Like, I’m still not sold on the reboot - Ghostbusters, like Back to the Future, is basically perfect, and I just can’t see any reboot doing it justice - but I’d probably be a little more eager to actually go and see it if this was the trailer they’d put out.

Kate McKinnon’s cartoon-Egon homage, apparently with added crazy, is by far my favourite part of everything we’ve seen from the film so far. From the costume to the few scenes we’ve actually seen featuring her, she’s been great.

Exactly! She’s the funniest bit of the whole trailer, and she does it while saying the least!

(That said, my favourite Rowan Atkinson performances are actually his more verbose roles—I particularly like Blackadder the Second.)

You can totally top Ghostbusters II. I liked it, and still fuck around doing the Janosz voice on my brother’s voicemail, but it wasn’t really that great.

They are re-doing it and trying something different. People complained about Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, MDC as Kingpin, Bumblebee as a Camaro, Topher Grace as Eddie Brock, etc etc and it’s usual whining about purity and accuracy. Not saying that’s you, but that’s a typical argument.

Unless it’s flat out offensive, like miscasting a biography, Hollywood will do whatever to make things appealing.
